What We Believe / Vision / Mission
Reformed Beliefs:
- Reformed Theology begins with the Sovereignty of God. We recognize that all creation is God's. All that we have is God's, just as we are God's. We are, therefore, called to be stewards or caretakers of that which is God's.
- Although made in the image of God and for relationship with God, we have become broken, fragmented, distorted. We are sinners. The world which was created good, is broken, fragmented, distorted.
- We need God's grace to be restored.
- We receive God's grace, which we don't deserve and which we cannot earn, through faith in Jesus Christ.
- Jesus Christ is the living Word of God, God's own son, the incarnation of God on earth. We know God through God's revelation of Jesus.
- God is also our Father and we are God's children. God continues to love us, forgive us, and teach us.
- The Holy Spirit is God with us - comforting, challenging, teaching, and empowering us.
- Our relationship with God is personal and also communal. We are part of the Body of Christ and members one of another. All believers are priests and have access to God.
- We respond to God both in communal worship and service and in personal acts of worship and discipleship. In worship we attend to the presence of God in our lives. We are transformed and renewed, equipped and sent to serve God's reign in the world.
- We, as the Church, as Christ's Body, go out into the world to serve, sharing the good news of the Gospel and working for peace and justice.
- The Bible is the inspired testimony, the record of God's revelation to us, which we read and study through the witness of Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is our guide to faith and practice.
